Birding for Spring Migrants May 7th at Walden Pond

Winneshiek County Conservation will host a spring migration birding walk at Walden Pond on Sunday, May 7th at 2:00 pm. Join naturalist Larry Reis in looking for the wide variety of migrating birds stopping over at Walden Pond this spring.

Walden Pond, a reservation-only park, is located at 1432 130th Ave. Castalia, IA, 52133. Please follow the driveway to the parking lot to meet the group for the start of the walk. Walden Pond is open to the public for special events only.

This event is free and no registration is required. Bring binoculars if you have them.

This event is held in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day on May 13th, 2023. Organizations in over 66 countries will host birding events this year to spread awareness about the threats to migratory birds around the globe. This year’s theme is “Water: Sustaining Bird Life.”
