Earth Day Festival

The 2025 Earth Day Festival will be held from 9:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturday, April 26th in the Community Building AND Danan Lansing Building at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah, IA. Join Winneshiek County Conservation and community partners for a fun morning of earth-friendly activities, vendors, snacks, and more!

Explore the latest in recycling, composting, renewable energy, solar power, electric vehicles, native planting, wildlife habitat, conservation practices, and more! This free, open house event is for all ages. Have fun with hands-on activities, interactive displays, and educational exhibits provided by local conservation and sustainability organizations.

  • Free coffee from Impact Coffee, Winneshiek Energy District, & Euphoria Coffee
  • Bring your used/broken bicycle to be donated or recycled by Upper Explorerland’s Safe Routes to School Program
  • Native tree seedlings & other giveaways from Trees Forever and the Decorah Tree Board
  • Presentations with a live raptor by the Raptor Resource Project
  • Electric vehicle showings
  • Solar & HVAC contractors
  • Touch table with furs, bones, animal tracks, and other kids’ activities
  • First access to register for the 2025 Driftless Safari and receive a free guidebook

Celebrate Earth Day all week long with these community events:
  • Try fun hands-on activities with Winneshiek County Conservation & Luther College Environmental Education students at the Northeast Iowa Family STEM Festival on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4PM to 7PM at the Pavilion on the Allamakee County Fairgrounds in Waukon.

  • Celebrate and support local fly fishing with the Trout Unlimited Driftless Chapter at their annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 26th at 5:00 pm at the Hotel Winneshiek.
