Winneshiek County Conservation will host an introductory canoe and kayak program at Lake Meyer on Wednesday, July 5th at 6:00 pm.

The program is free but space is limited and registration is required. DEADLINE EXTENDED to Tuesday, July 4th. Reservations cannot be guaranteed until confirmed with us. Please call (563) 534-7145 to reserve your spot.

The program will cover basic canoeing and kayaking safety and techniques. Vessels, paddles, and life jackets will be provided for registered participants. Feel free to bring your own kayak or canoe if you have one.

This event is open to all and no experience is required. Children aged 5-10 must be accompanied in canoes by an adult. No children under the age of 5 will be allowed in canoes or under 10 in kayaks. All kayaks are singles.

Lake Meyer Park is located at 2654 Lake Meyer Road, off Highway 24 between Calmar and Fort Atkinson. Participants should meet at the boat ramp on the east side of the lake.

In the case of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled.
