Kayakers enjoy the quiet waters on Lake Meyer

Kayaking at Lake Meyer

So popular we are doing it again! – Winneshiek County Conservation hosts Kayaking at Lake Meyer Park on Tuesday, Sept. 5th from 6:30-7:30 pm!

The event is free and open to anyone age 10 or older. Registration is required as there will be a limited number of kayaks available. Please call (563) 534-7145 to reserve your spot.

Vessels, paddles, and life jackets will be provided for registered participants. Feel free to bring your own kayak or canoe if you have one.

Staff will teach basic kayaking safety and techniques starting promptly at 6:30 pm. Then participants will have free time to paddle around the lake. No experience is required.

Bonus for Students of Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC): NICC Students invited to register through NICC’s Student Life office to reserve a kayak from 5:30-6:30 pm. Contact Shannon Dirks, Assistant Director of Student Life, for more information on this portion of the event at (844)642-2338.

Lake Meyer Park is located at 2654 Lake Meyer Road, off Highway 24 between Calmar and Fort Atkinson. Participants should meet at the boat ramp on the east side of the lake.

In the case of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled.
