Maple Syruping Walk
Take a walk through the sugarbush at Walden Pond on Monday, March 17th at 5:30 pm with Winneshiek County Conservation staff. We will walk you through the process of maple syruping from start to sweet finish: tapping trees, collecting sap, evaporating, and even taste-testing!
Walden Pond, a reservation-only park, is located at 1432 130th Ave. Castalia, IA, 52133. Please follow the driveway to the parking lot to meet the group for the start of the walk. Walden Pond is open to the public for special events only.
The event is free and open to all ages. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. The trails are unpaved and may be slippery. Participants should wear clothes and shoes appropriate for snowy or muddy conditions.
Registration is required as space is limited. Please call the Winneshiek County Conservation office at (563) 534-7145 to let us know you plan on attending.
In case of poor weather conditions, watch the Winneshiek County Conservation website or Facebook page for any changes in plans due to weather.
