Volunteers are a central part of how we accomplish everything we do! In 2023, volunteers served nearly 1,500 hours with Winneshiek County Conservation for an estimated value of over $47,000.

There are many opportunities for volunteers, including:

  • helping with special events and programs like our Ice Fishing Derby, Family Fishing Clinic, and Campground Trunk or Treat
  • counting trail users
  • researching park history
  • helping with park cleanup and natural resource management
  • building or cleaning birdhouses
  • conducting species inventories
  • and more!

We can work with people of all ages and abilities and with individuals or groups.
